What is a Chapter Ambassador? The Chapter Ambassadors program promotes student engagement at the chapter and national levels, creating service and community building opportunities for students. The program strives to build partnerships that increase access to the harp, strengthen connections to chapters, encourage student mentoring at the chapter level, and foster future leadership potential for the Society.
The deadline to apply is December 15, 2025.
A Note from the President:
Welcome to the 2025-2026 season!
We are an active Chapter with a wonderful community of harpists throughout the state including harp teachers, performers, students and friends of the harp. I started the harp at the age of seven, here in CT, and I was involved with the CT Chapter throughout my childhood as a student, and then again as an adult professional. It's always been a great resource of harp activities, information, inspiration, support and community. I am delighted to work to continue that tradition along with our talented and dedicated Board members.
Please renew your membership so you can learn about, and take part in all our events, and remember that CT Chapter membership is separate from the national American Harp Society membership.
We are starting off our CT Chapter season on Sunday, September 7th with a Teacher Round Table at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford. This is an opportunity for all the Harp Teachers throughout the greater area to get together and share ideas and thoughts and concerns. To attend, you just need to be a harp teacher, or a harpist finished with your studies and about to start harp teaching, and a CT Chapter Member! I am looking forward to it, and to sharing in our community of Harp professionals. Read more in the Events page!
We have an exciting online workshop with the amazing Amy Turk on arranging popular music for harp and incorporating percussion on the harp. That will be on Sunday, October 5th from 3:00 - 4:30.
We are also planning an in-person Holiday concerts for December that you can participate in and a Spring master class and concert with a special performer and more chances to play and learn.
There's also a Sweepstakes to win a free 6 day vacation in Ireland! And part of your donation will go to the American Harp Society, and to supporting our own CT Chapter!
Thanks for your participation, and your love of the harp.
I hope to see you soon -
Warmly, Wendy Kerner, President, CT Chapter American Harp Society
