Holiday Recital, Gathering, and Nosh!Join Chapter members Susan Knapp Thomas and Mae Cooke, along with fellow harp students at the Hartt School on Sunday, December 15, 2024 for a sharing of musical performances, a celebration of the holiday, and a gathering of friends and fellow harpists.
Musical sharing/performances will begin at 11:00am; please plan to arrive 20-30” prior for warm-ups.
2 lever and 2 pedals harps will be available.
Each student may perform for a length of 3-5 minutes.
Please bring a finger food holiday dish to share.
Holiday attire encouraged!
The Hartt School is located at The University of Hartford, 225 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford CT.
When you arrive at the University of Hartford, proceed to Parking Lot D; The Hartt School is located across the street in the Fuller Building.
Our gathering will take place in Room 021, immediately inside the entrance to the Fuller Building on the right.
Students of all ages and abilities are welcome!

Holiday Performance for FriendsJoin Wendy Kerner and fellow harp students and friends as we share beautiful music with the seniors at The Inn in New Canaan - an independent living community for seniors.
Our Concert will take place at 2:00.
All ages and levels are welcome to participate.
A lever harp and pedal harp will be available for you to play on.
Please arrive by 1:30 if you would like to try out the harp and warm up.
Each student may perform one piece - it can be a holiday piece, or any piece you would like to play.
Holiday attire encouraged.
There will be a reception following where we can greet each other and our appreciative audience.
Please let Wendy know if you would like to bring your harp and share it with other students.
Please bring a finger food for the reception if you can.
The Inn at Waveny is located at 73 Oenoke Ridge Road - when you pull in the driveway, drive straight down to the end of the drive and the Inn will be all the way in the back on your left.

Kirsten will give a masterclass at 1:30PM, which is open only to Connecticut Chapter members.
Kirsten will give a recital at 3:30PM, open to the public. Reception to follow.
Advance tickets are $21.50 for adults and $12.50 for children/students/seniors.
Tickets at the door are $25 and $15 respectively.

Virtual Harp RecitalThe live Zoom concerts on December 20th included a concert with 8 adult performers of all levels hailing from CT, NY, and Kent, England. This was followed by a concert with 14 younger participants, students of Wendy Kerner, Lizary Rodriguez, Megan Sesma and Susan Knapp Thomas. With performers, teachers and audience members, we had almost 100 people online! Thanks to everyone for the great success!

Chapter Workshop: "Stage Presence and Performance at the Harp"

Rebecca Squire and Susan Knapp Thomas, both professional harpists and instructors, will lead a class on proper stage presence, etiquette, and performance challenges faced by students and professionals who perform regularly.
A must for students who would like to improve their stage presence and ask questions about performance challenges at the harp.
